I am a knitting potter, or potting knitter. Yarn bowls need to be on the heavy side, with a wide stable base. My yarn bowls are hefty as well as having a nice wide base. There are several sizes to choose from. Each one is unique. A narrow base looks nice on a tea bowl but is not practical for a Yarn Bowl. I make my key cutout for the yarn nice and deep so the yarn really stays there - and the path is very smooth.
